Sometimes a job calls for a steel edging product that is just that little bit more heavy duty. In those instances, we can offer our EverEdge Titan Steel Edging in 6.0mm thick steel. It is this thicker steel that you will see being used widely in National Trust and English Heritage properties.
6.0mm thick Titan landscape edging can be specified in mild steel, hot dip galvanised, CorTen steel or can be powder coated in a variety of colours. The mild steel option is the most cost effective of these choices and, due to the thickness of the material, will offer over 10 years of life in most conditions.
Please note, we do not recommend either mild steel or CorTen for installation in coastal areas where the salt air will attack the raw surface of the metal.
6.0mm thick EverEdge lawn and landscape edging can be specified in an unrivalled range of heights from 80mm up to 300mm to suit almost any installation. As a general rule, we advise burying at least 1/3 of the edging in the ground or up to 1/2 of the edging where additional stability is required.
6.0mm thick steel is used primarily in commercial jobs for stately homes, public spaces and large scale renovations. However, a thicker steel edge can sometimes be an aesthetic choice even in more domestic settings and we have seen this edging specified for driveways and paths. Due to the thickness, this edging is not going to flex as much as our standard range. However, we would expect to be able to form at least a 2.0m radius so gentle curves can still be created. For tighter bends and curves, consider a thinner steel gauge. EverEdge Titan steel landscape edging is also available in 2.5mm and 4.0mm options.
