Steel edging with galvanised or powder-coated finishes requires minimal maintenance, as these coatings effectively resist corrosion and rust, ensuring a long service life.

Installation typically involves securing lengths with pins or spikes driven through pre-drilled holes. The steel can be cut and bent on-site to follow curves and corners in landscaping designs.

Yes. Commercial-grade steel edging is designed to be installed on uneven terrain, including MOT Type 1 and Type 2 sub-base or rubble, thanks to its robust and heavy-duty construction.

Steel edging for commercial landscaping usually comes in thicknesses from 2.5mm up to 5mm, with heights ranging between 100mm and 300mm. Thicker sections are recommended for more demanding projects that require extra durability.

Heavy-duty steel edging is commonly available in galvanised mild steel, hot-dip galvanised steel, powder-coated finishes and CorTen weathering steel. These finishes offer excellent protection against corrosion while providing a range of aesthetic options.

Yes. While extremely robust, this heavy-duty steel edging is flexible enough to follow the curves and shapes of your landscaping project. Depending on the thickness, it may be necessary to score the edging first to achieve a clean and precise bend.

Titan is a highly robust and versatile steel edging option. Its range of heights, thicknesses and finishes makes it one of the most popular choices for commercial and industrial landscaping, especially where sub-base and rubble conditions demand strength and flexibility.

CorTen Titan steel edging arrives with a dull blue-grey finish. It takes between three and six months to develop its characteristic rust patina, which continues to deepen over twelve months depending on weather conditions.

With proper installation and maintenance, the edging is designed to last at least 15 years, thanks to its heavy-duty steel and protective coatings.

Delivery usually takes five working days for in-stock Titan heavy-duty steel edging. Lead times may increase during busy periods, such as spring. Compared to domestic garden edging products, Titan steel edging may have longer lead times due to its commercial-grade specifications.

We recommend installing your EverEdge garden edging flush with the turf, especially if you plan to mow over it. Ideally, the top edge should sit approximately 15mm below the grass cut height. This helps protect your garden borders and makes mowing much easier. Full installation guidelines are included with your order.

Yes, you can easily cut our garden edging using a grinder or a hacksaw. For a clean finish, overlap any excess material behind your starting point if possible. Alternatively, finish a run by bending the strip at a 90° angle into a flower bed, wall or bank, which also adds structural strength.

We generally recommend installing garden edging level with your turf for a seamless look and easier mowing. If you prefer a visible edge, you can install it proud. However, note that CorTen and galvanised steel edging can have sharp edges, so this may not be ideal for gardens with small children or pets.

EverEdge CLASSIC edging comes in 75mm (3″), 100mm (4″), and 125mm (5″) depths, excluding spikes. Choose the depth that suits your soil type and garden design. For shallow edging, simply install it deeper into the ground for added stability.

Yes. Planting rings for trees are flexible and can be adjusted to fit slopes or uneven surfaces. The Pin & Sleeve system is especially useful for improving support on banks or inclines, perfect for lawn edging around trees in trickier spots.

EverEdge garden rings are available in standard finishes, including Brown, Slate and raw CorTen. While galvanised steel doesn’t need extra coating, you can apply a custom colour using outdoor metal paint if you prefer a bespoke look.

For most installations, all you need is a garden spade and a rubber mallet. On soft or clay ground, place a tile or brick beneath each joint for stability. You can also use our Pin & Sleeve system for added anchorage if needed.

Watch Now: “Can I make larger than 1.5m diameter EverEdge Garden Rings?” (Video embedded below)

Yes, you can install your planting ring proud of the ground if you want a more visible border. Just be aware that CorTen or unpainted galvanised steel may have sharp edges, so this may not be ideal for gardens with small children or pets.

Planting rings for trees help protect and define the root area while trees establish themselves. A tree collar ring can also be used decoratively, ideal for edging circular flower beds, herb gardens, or even framing water features and sculptures.

A steel garden tree ring acts as effective tree root protection edging. It defines a clear border that shields roots from foot traffic and lawnmowers, helping to prevent damage. It also improves water and nutrient retention around the root ball, supporting healthy growth in young or established trees.

Your CorTen steel tree ring will arrive with a dark blue-grey finish. Over time, it naturally develops a rich rust-coloured patina. This weathering process takes around 3 to 6 months, with full colour development in 6 to 12 months.

Each ring is made from galvanised steel with a durable powder-coated finish. Our maintenance-free tree ring edging is built to last at least 15 years in UK weather conditions.

We recommend positioning the top edge of your ring level with the lawn. A good rule of thumb is to install it around 15 mm below your mower’s cutting height. This makes lawn edging around trees safer and easier to maintain. Full installation instructions are included with your order.

In very soft or clay soil, the ring may sink when pressure is applied. To prevent this, place a flat tile or piece of brick under each joint or wherever support is needed. The Pin & Sleeve system also helps provide added stability in challenging ground conditions.

To deal with surplus lengths of EverEdge Rolltop Classic steel garden edging. Lay the edging to the point the pieces overlap. Mark the edging at this point and cut with an angle grinder. At this point, the two edging pieces can be simply butted together and the back plate attached. If you have the required drill bit, a hole can be drilled into the cut section.

EverEdge Rolltop Classic can be bent to angles by cutting a V into the rolled top edge and forming the steel around a block of wood.

The great thing about EverEdge Roll Top Garden Edging is that it can be installed proud, as long as you are not planning to mow over the edge. This means the top of the edging can protrude above the top level of the turf to the desired height. If you are planning to mow over the edge, ensure the edging top is level with the top of the turf, about 15mm below the cut height of the grass.

The product comes with a detailed installation guide.

While not as flexible as the standard products, both Classic and Titan roll top edging can be used to make curved garden borders. Hydra roll top cannot be curved and is only suitable for straight-edge borders. However, right angles can be achieved with corner pieces.

In some installations, it is desirable to have the edging showing. In these cases, roll top edging is the safest solution. Since the top edge is smooth and not sharp, it can safely be installed proud and is the recommended choice for homes with pets or small children.

EverEdge roll top edging has a front and a rear face. It should always be installed with the joints protruding onto the rear, hidden side.

EverEdge has a galvanised coating and a thick layer of plastic powder paint coating. EverEdge will not deteriorate or rust for at least 15 years.

Only when you have very poor ground conditions, especially very loose earth or sandy ground. It can also help to give extra support to your EverEdge where the flexible steel garden edging is supporting a slope or bank. This item is not necessary in most projects.

The ProEdge spikes are 100mm (4″) and the CLASSIC spikes are 94mm (3.7″). If you need more anchorage, consider using our Pin and Sleeve accessory.

For most applications, lawn to path or lawn to flowerbed the 1.6mm is the preferred product to use, however if there is a possibility of vehicle traffic then the 2.5mm thick ProEdge is preferable.

The top of the EverEdge should never be proud of the lawn if you are planning to mow over the edge. Ensure that the edging top is level with the top of the turf, about 15mm below the cut height of the grass. This is indicated in our installation guide when you buy EverEdge.

Cutting EverEdge is no problem, either with a grinder or a hacksaw. The best way to lose any extra material is to lap it behind where you started if possible, or where you are not returning to the start point put a 90° bend and lose the extra along a wall, bank, flower bed etc. This will also add extra strength at the end of the edging run.

As a general rule we recommend installing EverEdge so that the top of the edging is level with the turf. So not proud. However, in some installations it is desirable to have the edging showing. CorTen and Galvanised (unpainted) edging can be quite sharp so, if the edging will be installed proud, these finishes are not recommend for homes with dogs or small children.

EverEdge comes in 3 depths – 75mm (3″), 100mm (4″) and 125mm (5″). This excludes the spikes which are 94mm (3.7″) on Classic and 100mm (3.9″) on ProEdge. We recommend that you bury the EverEdge to the very top of the spike (15mm into the edge face). If you have an edge which is not equal to the sizes we supply, say 50mm, simply knock the 75mm EverEdge deeper until you have the correct depth.

In very soft ground, or in clay, simply treading on the edge or the weight of a mower will push the edge into the soil. To prevent this, place a piece of broken flat tile or brick under each joint or anywhere along the edging.  Using the Pin & Sleeve system may also help to anchor and support the edging.

EverEdge Classic and ProEdge are extremely flexible and will easily curve to virtually any radius. To bend, mark a line across the point where it needs to be bent and form the angle using any sharp right angle edge whether it be in a vice, work bench, 4”x2” timber or even the angle edge of a table.

Assuming your order is in stock, normal delivery time will be 1-5 working days although this may increase slightly in the spring due to the added volume of sales. Some products, such as ProEdge, Halestem and Titan are on a longer lead time. Please contact us if you need more precise details.
