Garden Ring for Planting and Tree Edging
EverEdge steel garden tree rings are among the best tree protection rings for UK gardens. Pre-formed in a range of sizes, they support young trees as they establish, while also protecting shrubs and ornamental beds. Each ring is made in Britain from durable steel and delivered in multiple parts for easy fitting around existing planting zones.
Choose from a range of finishes to suit your garden style, including Brown, Slate, or weathering CorTen steel tree rings. CorTen arrives as untreated blue steel and develops a rust patina over time, forming a weatherproof steel garden ring that blends beautifully into the landscape.
These steel garden rings offer more than protection. They define planting areas with a neat, tidy edge, adding structure and visual appeal to domestic and commercial gardens. They’re easy to install, whether you’re a landscaper or a home gardener.

In very soft ground or clay, simply treading on the edge, or the weight of a mower will push the edge into the soil. To prevent this, place a piece of broken flat tile or brick under each joint or anywhere along the edging. Using the Pin and Sleeve system may also help to anchor and support the edging.
The top of the tree planting rings should never be proud of the grass if you are planning to mow over the edge. Ensure that the top of the tree ring is level with the top of the turf, about 15mm below the cut height of the grass. This is indicated in the installation guide when you buy EverEdge.
EverEdge garden rings have a galvanised coating and a thick layer of plastic powder paint coating. This strong planting ring solution will not deteriorate or rust for at least 15 years
Your CorTen steel tree ring will arrive with a dark blue-grey finish. Over time, it naturally develops a rich rust-coloured patina. This weathering process takes around 3 to 6 months, with full colour development in 6 to 12 months.

A steel garden tree ring acts as effective tree root protection edging. It defines a clear border that shields roots from foot traffic and lawnmowers, helping to prevent damage. It also improves water and nutrient retention around the root ball, supporting healthy growth in young or established trees.
Planting rings for trees help protect and define the root area while trees establish themselves. A tree collar ring can also be used decoratively, ideal for edging circular flower beds, herb gardens, or even framing water features and sculptures.
Yes, you can install your planting ring proud of the ground if you want a more visible border. Just be aware that CorTen or unpainted galvanised steel may have sharp edges, so this may not be ideal for gardens with small children or pets.
Yes. You can link sections from 1.2 m and 1.5 m rings together to form a larger diameter. This is useful if you’re creating circular edging for young trees or landscaping larger beds.

Yes. CorTen is a corrosion-resistant tree ring material that requires no coating or treatment before installation. It naturally forms a stable rust patina, making it a weatherproof steel garden ring suitable for long-term outdoor use in UK gardens.
For most installations, all you need is a garden spade and a rubber mallet. On soft or clay ground, place a tile or brick beneath each joint for stability. You can also use our Pin & Sleeve system for added anchorage if needed.
EverEdge garden rings are available in standard finishes, including Brown, Slate and raw CorTen. While galvanised steel doesn’t need extra coating, you can apply a custom colour using outdoor metal paint if you prefer a bespoke look.
Yes. Planting rings for trees are flexible and can be adjusted to fit slopes or uneven surfaces. The Pin & Sleeve system is especially useful for improving support on banks or inclines, perfect for lawn edging around trees in trickier spots.

Fiercely British and proudly family-owned since 1995, our company was the first metal lawn edging company established in the UK. We played a key role in forging the shape of the landscape edging industry as it is today, just as landscapers forge new spaces with our high-quality steel products.
What started as simple garden edging has now evolved into all things outdoor, but we still maintain the same dedication to quality in every one of our products. Always thinking of ways to make outdoor spaces cleaner, greener and less maintenance, our products are used widely by homeowners, professional gardeners and landscape architects.
Ours is a story of growth, strength and resilience. Everything a garden needs.
