The landscape at Blenheim Palace has recently undergone a major transformation in a mission to further enhance its appeal as a family-friendly destination. The installation of a large, state-of-the-art adventure playground was commissioned within the historic grounds, which attract just shy of one million visitors each year. The scale and ambition of the project required a collaborative approach, expert craftsmanship and robust landscaping solutions.

The project was led by ASA Landscape Architects, who managed the design and preparation. CAP.CO, playground apparatus specialists, delivered the play equipment, while installation was undertaken by Radcot Groundworks.

To complement the winding and sloped pathways running through the playground, we fabricated and supplied our EverEdge Titan heavy-duty steel edging. This solution was specified to provide both structure and durability across the varied terrain.
Custom Retaining Walls
Alongside this, we produced custom retaining walls using 3.0mm CorTen steel edging – a material well suited to heritage settings due to its longevity and ability to blend naturally into the environment.
Detailed Structural Design and Installation
Each retaining wall was designed to precise specifications, incorporating curves, tapers and a 30mm wide flat top edge. The CorTen steel edging and walls were installed on concrete bases, with buttressed supports added for increased structural integrity.
